TIMERS

We have a wide variety of grow light timers which can handle anywhere from one up to 32 grow lights! The limiting factor to these devices is the available amperage of the electrical circuit. (Outlets and breakers) Check out the grow light timer selection from Green Air and CAP. For simple single grow light systems, you can use any 15-20 AMP timer like the Grasslin. Be careful when plugging two lights into any timer, even the dual timer. Make sure the amperage draw of the grow lights is way below the available amperage of the timer.

Grow light timers use heavy duty cords, wiring and contacts to ensure safe switching on and off of high load equipment. In addition to this key benefit, Grow Light Timers are available with several special options. These either include or can be attached to a battery backup, a delay device which will turn on grow lights in sequential order with anywhere from a 1-15 minute delay in between lights (this will prevent any spikes or peaks in your power draw), temperature override (preventing any unsafe heat levels in your indoor grow room; shutting down your grow lights if necessary) and latching relay (prevents repeated on/off light cycling in the event of power failure/surges). Cycle Timers allow the setting of both Frequency and Duration. For example, a pump can be turned on every 5 minutes (Frequency) and the cycle of watering will last for 1 minute (Duration). These timers are most commonly used for either irrigation or CO2 control. When using with CO2, a calculatio can be employed which will direct the user to the required ON time to bring the CO2 levels to the desired PPM set point. Click Here to use our CALCULATOR.

Cycle Timers are special for another reason - when power is removed from the outlet they are plugged into, and then restored - the cycle simply begins again. This is important when a Cycle Timer is used in conjunction with a temperature/ humidity controller like the AIR-3 from CAP or the EVC-2 from Sentinel . These controllers will turn off the outlet the Cycle Timer is plugged into when it turns on the Vent Fan outlet, thus preventing the CO2 cycle from turning on and wasting CO2. When the Vent Fan outlet turns off, the Cycle Timer outlet is turned back on and the CO2 enrichment cycle can begin again.
