Advanced Nutrients is going eXponential with Bud Factor X. The ante has been raised on the menu of nutrient additives and this one been sparking a bit of a stir within the hydroponics scene. So what’s all the hype about? Let’s find out…

Bud Factor X is a nutrient additive in the Advanced Nutrients line-up aimed at growers with a “Grand Master” level of growing experience. In other words, this additive is some potent stuff! In terms of the type of additive, Bud Factor X is specifically an Immune System Stimulator. What Advanced Nutrients claims is that Bud Factor X will benefit the quality of your plants in the following ways:

· Increased aromatics

· Increased taste

· Increased production of essential oils

· Higher resistance to stress, pests, and disease

· Overall larger plants resulting in heavier harvests

One great advantage of using Bud Factor X is that it gives growers an alternative to the reliance on chemical controls for pests and diseases, such as using sulphur, which can have adverse affects on the quality of flavor and aroma in a harvest. Bud Factor X avoids the need for chemical controls by using highly bio-active ingredients instead. One of the aims of these bio-active ingredients is to target the external organelles of a plant, where the resins and essential oils are produced. By activating the immune system of the plant, the external organelles increase their natural defensive abilities in the form of protective resins and oils that protect the plant in two distinct ways. Firstly, the sticky resins and oils form a physical barrier that impede larger insects and may even trap and kill smaller insects such as thrips or spider mites. Secondly, many pests avoid contacting plants that emit aromatic compounds that are produced in the resins. Although bad for bugs, excess production of essential oils can turn a good harvest into an epic harvest, and makes for very happy growers.

Bud Factor X by Advanced Nutrients

By strengthening the immune system of a plant with the use of Bud Factor X, energy resources are freed up and available to be diverted into production of sturdier and more robust growth. This systemic response not only encourages high quality crops, but also maximum yields. Typically, plants with lower immune system strength are forced to divert precious energy away from photosynthesis to buffer against pests and disease. This is not the case when using Bud Factor X and has been noted by Advanced Nutrients to bulk up plants by as much as 50%, especially in the stems and stocks in preparation for producing and supporting much larger flowers.

Foliar feeding with Bud Factor X is an excellent way of transferring the active ingredients advanced additive into your plants. This method of feeding is optimal due to Bud Factor X’s proprietary non-ionic surfactant, however it also helps with nutrient transfer in the root zone if you don’t foliar feed.

Microbe Brew: A specially formulated microbial catalyst made from a complex blend of ingredients that helps plants achieve optimum microbial habitats at the rhizosphere or Root Zone environments. Feed your plants and your microbes at the same time. The earthworm castings and kelp create a tasty brew that will satisfy your plants’ thirst by giving them the nutritional cocktail they deserve.

Sledgehammer: This unique rinse is specially formulated to remove excess fertilizer build up. Sledgehammer encourages water movement through soil and soiless mediums. High fertilizer use can compromise plant growth over time due to concentrated mineral salt deposits. Some say this is the easiest clearing solution you’ll ever use since there is no pretreatment and no need to stop feeding.

With these great new additions to the Fox Farm tribe, growers now have more options to stay within their favorite brand for the products they would normally need to find in other brands. There is not much feedback yet from the grower community in terms of performance of these products, but the few accounts we’ve heard are good and we are confident that the results will live up to the standards set by the brand.

ABC – This is the multipurpose dry chemical extinguisher. The ABC type is filled with monoammonium phosphate, a yellow powder that leaves a sticky residue that may be damaging to electrical appliances such as a computer. Dry chemical extinguishers have an advantage over CO2 extinguishers since they leave a non-flammable substance on the extinguished material, reducing the likelihood of re-ignition.

Class A extinguishers are for ordinary combustible materials such as paper, wood, cardboard, and most plastics. The numerical rating on these types of extinguishers indicates the amount of water it holds and the amount of fire it can extinguish.

Class B fires involve flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline, kerosene, grease and oil. The numerical rating for class B extinguishers indicates the approximate number of square feet of fire it can extinguish.

Class C fires involve electrical equipment, such as appliances, wiring, circuit breakers and outlets. Never use water to extinguish class C fires – the risk of electrical shock is far too great! Class C extinguishers do not have a numerical rating. The C classification means the extinguishing agent is non-conductive.
